Have you been diagnosed with COVID-19 and have recently recovered?
Do you want to learn your immune response to the infection?
Please contact us at info@symbioticainc.com.
We are actively doing studies to improve and provide more COVID-19 testing, including learning about how recovered COVID-19 patients are developing an immune response. Your sample is valuable and can provide the means to bring better access for others and more information in understanding the infection.
What is this for?
We are developing a clinical test for at-home/self-collection so people can learn whether they’ve been exposed to COVID-19, and whether their bodies are making antibodies to fight it. This will allow for specimen collection safely from home and without additional risk of exposure.
Why are you asking me to participate?
We are currently performing a study that will provide evidence that our COVID-19 Immune Response Antibody Test can be self-collected or collected with assistance from another family member or adult at home or wherever. This study proposes to give evidence that self-sampling is as accurate and reproducible as if the sample was collected at a laboratory, clinic or at a blood draw station.
Do I qualify?
For patients who’ve recently tested POSITIVE:
Wait at least 14 days from date of nasal swab test (or other approved clinical test) - and no more than 2 months
For patients who’ve recently tested NEGATIVE:
Within 7 days from date of nasal swab test (or another approved clinical test)
What's the process?
We will ask you to review and sign our study consent form; and, provide a copy of your positive COVID-19 test results.
We will send you an at-home, self-collection kit for a finger-prick sample.
*The kit will include everything you will need to collect your sample, including an instruction sheet and a pre-paid mailer to return it to us using any USPS drop box.
What does it mean to participate in the study?
We will test your sample when it arrives at our lab and can return your results within 2-4 days of receiving your sample; but we must stipulate, this is for research purposes only. It does not cost you anything to participate in this study. We cannot offer you anything like a monetary incentive / gift to participate because joining the study must be purely voluntary for ethical reasons.
